Since 2007, The Killingworth Foundation has been building a charitable endowment to serve the citizens and the community of Killingworth. Our funds come from individual and group donations, and bequests from people who appreciate the continuity and flexibility that a permanent philanthropic foundation provides.

The Killingworth Foundation will provide seed money for new services and will fill needs not being met by other organizations or sources. In general, we will grant funds for special purposes, including buildings, equipment, land, and programs, but we will not commit the Foundation to recurring expenses.

Individuals or organizations making gifts or bequests to The Killingworth Foundation can be assured they have made a contribution that will be of enduring benefit to the town.

Foundation News
The Killingworth Foundation began its fifth Annual Appeal this October. Our 2011-2012 Appeal proved to be the most successful to date and for that milestone we thank our neighbors, their relatives and friends. As we begin our sixth year, the Foundation is becoming one of the cornerstones of our community with growing potential for future grant giving.

Over the past year the Foundation continued the high school senior Achievement Award and the Ullrich Scholarship programs. Contributing grants, including support from the Auer Family Fund, were awarded for two Eagle Scout projects. Both projects, the construction of a vehicle/ pedestrian bridge at Parmelee Farm and the building of a split rail fence at the Killingworth Recreational Park, enhance the safety and utility of highly frequented town sites. The Shoreline Soup Kitchens and Pantries was also a recipient of a Foundation grant. This nonprofit regularly provides assistance to over eighty members of the Killingworth community.
